If you’re dreaming of a vineyard wedding with sweeping lake views, warm summer air, incredible food and even better wine, Vows and Vines Vineyard in Penticton, BC is truly one of the most stunning venues you could choose. Tatum and Mark’s summer wedding here was the perfect mix of elegant, relaxed, and wildly fun, especially when a little unexpected rain came during their reception.
The property sits high above The Okanagan, with rows of vines leading your eye straight to the water and mountains beyond. It feels like you’ve been dropped into a European or Californian wine region, except it’s right here in BC.

Tatum and Mark planned an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake, with wooden chairs lined up on the lawn and white ribbons tied to the aisles, framed by mountains and endless blue sky. It was absolutely stunning and exactly what you’d picture when you think of a winery wedding.

Tatum walked down the aisle absolutely glowing, surrounded by so much love, and the ceremony was intimate, emotional and full of those quiet, meaningful moments that make you forget about everything else around you. With the lake stretched out behind them and their closest people gathered together, it was one of those ceremonies that felt both breathtaking and deeply personal at the same time.
This is one of the things I love most about Vows & Vines Vineyards. The ceremony location truly speaks for itself and you really don’t need much to make it feel stunning.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the vineyard rows and the lake views for portraits. These are some of my favourite spots on the property because they give you that perfect mix of natural, romantic, and timeless all in one place.
Tatum and Mark were so relaxed together, laughing, soaking it all in, and fully present with each other, which always makes for the best photos. The soft summer light, the greenery of the vines, and the calm water created such a beautiful colour palette for their portraits.

The reception took place on the venue’s elevated outdoor terrace overlooking the lake and vines. Long tables, twinkle lights overhead, and guests enjoying incredible food and wine while soaking in the view. Truly a dream summer reception setup.
Midway through dinner, the rain rolled in and completely shifted the energy of the evening in the best way. Guests grabbed their umbrellas, everyone started laughing and the whole rest of the evening turned into this chaotic, joyful, completely unforgettable celebration. Instead of slowing things down, the rain made everything feel like we were in a movie.
Some of my favourite images from the day came from this portion of the evening. People dancing and laughing under umbrellas, wine glasses raised, and everyone fully in the moment and not caring that they were getting soaking wet.

This wedding was special to me for so many reasons. The scenery is unreal, the location is obviously gorgeous, and the overall experience at this venue is top tier. From the landscaping to the food, the wine, the ceremony and reception space, everything fells thoughtful and beautifully designed.
Something that really stood out to me was how well the venue staff handled the shift in the weather. When couples ask me about rain on wedding days, I always tell them that it’s not about whether it rains, it’s about how your venue staff handles the pivot.
If you’re planning a wedding in Penticton on anywhere in the Okanagan and you’re considering a winery or vineyard venue, with incredible views and solid rain backup plan, Vows and Vines Vineyard is absolutely worth putting at the top of your list.
And if your dream is a wedding gallery that feels natural, emotional, full of life, and timeless – even when the weather decides to do its own thing, I would love to be there with you.
